Dorchester will soon be a hot spot for Vietnamese-style desserts. As reported yesterday, Coco Leaf is set to open on February 2 (courtesy of an O Ya alum), specializing in a soup-like dessert called chè, and another forthcoming cafe will offer a lineup of similar treats. Bambu Desserts & Drinks is a California-based dessert chain with dozens of locations around the country, and it will open its second Massachusetts location soon at 289 Adams St., the site of the former Lucky Strike Lanes.

Four sisters founded the cafe in 2008 in San Jose, CA, featuring a menu filled with chè, bubble tea, smoothies, and coffees — a total of more than 80 beverage options. The chain has expanded to 14 states and more than 50 locations.

There is an existing Bambu Desserts & Drinks in Randolph at 1138 N. Main St., and this new location in Dorchester will be just a stone’s throw from the Fields Corner MBTA stop. The cafe’s beverages feature ingredients like red tapioca, mung bean, avocado, pandan jelly, coconut milk, and more. Eater has reached out for more details about the forthcoming location and will post any updates when they are available.
